Great Times

Hey!  I'm sittin' on my sofa with a new laptop.  We bought it mostly for son, but he's at a friend's house tonight, so I'm having a great time with it.  :-)

Amanda's been up last weekend and then last night.  It's been fun having her over.  I miss her when she's not here.  She brightens everything up.  She came yesterday to help celebrate Eric's making the A honor roll all year long.  He got the red plate and his favorite dinner: stuffed shells, broccoli and chocolate cake with ice cream.  His fave is actually Mayonnaise Cake, but I just got a mix this time.

Back to the important stuff: A honor roll!  All year!  We're so proud of him.  He's just loved this first year of middle school.  I'm so happy for him.  He's away from that whore-ible woman from the last school who shall remain nameless.  Oh - he also made student of the month, which I guess is a big deal.  I didn't realize that is was even a thing.  lol

Tonight he's sleeping over at Jordan's.  After we dropped him off there, we brought Amanda home and then hubby and I actually went on a date.  Just to the movies, but it was a lot of fun.  We went to the Oakdale Cinemas and saw Thor.  It was a great movie but so was the theater we saw it in.  It's the Ultra screen.  If you haven't been to it, GO!  It's three stories high and 70' wide with steep stadium seating.  Free refills on the junk food too.  The movie itself was nice - full of action but still innocent.  Nothing to feel bad about letting your kid see.  Speaking of which, we're taking E to see it tomorrow.  It gets pretty loud, but I just plugged my ears.

My sister in law Debbie found out she has breast cancer.  She has to start chemo on Monday, then when she's down with all those rounds, she starts radiation.  She's the sweetest relative on Curt's side.  She just loves her kids and grandkids.  I so hope this stuff works.  She said she wants me to knit her some hats.  YES!

I bought two new cd's yesterday: Tony Bennett and Joshua Bell.  Here's a beautiful song by Puccini and played by Bell: Ok, maybe not.  I think I put it in a new post.  Ooops.  Dang, I've gotta get used to puttin' stuff where I want in the blog.

I'm going to go now, gonna upload some pics so I can post them.
