Biggest cuke so far. |
I was just out in my make-shift garden admiring my four cukes. It's so dang exciting to see something growing. Specially the thing you actually planted! HA!
Now down here to the left are some zinnias. In 2009 I planted some multi colored -from seed- and they, all 20 of them, turned out pink. Same thing this year. Different seeds, brand, store that I bought them from. Same color. All of them. Grrrr. Could it actually be "something in the water"? LOL They're still fun to watch bloom, but I love them so much because there's normally a barrage of color with them. Hmmm. A mystery to solve.
Zinnias - allegedly multi colored. |
My clearance priced flowers. Luv that! It goes perfectly there with all the wicker. |
Over here to the right are my new flowers from Lowe's. They were on clearance, which bestill my heart, is probably my favorite thing to see at a store. The magical red, or yellow in this case, sticker hinting at my coming euphoria. "What will the new price be? How much can I save? How much less will DH be upset/or not by my purchase? Will this item be a new member of my family?"
Only $5.50 for these luverlies. Check out my newest conquest. It's the urn for which I have 'y-urn-ed'. Sorry, had to say it. Seriously though, I've been waiting for this sucker to go on sale for about 2 months, but here it went full on clearance. I'm sure it'll go lower, but there were only three left and I wanted to make sure I got my black beauty. The flowers next to it are in the plastic sad little urn that my new baby will be replacing. It has served me well, but is just too small, too old, and too dirty and cracked to hold on to.
The new one will look gorgeous for every season. I can't wait to put mums with some trailing vines in it for autumn, or maybe a pumpkin -eek!; and a lighted little pine bough tree thingy for Christmas. AHHH! I'm excited. Eventually our front step will be covered with slate and will look awesome. We tore out the bushes in front of the steps a month or so ago. Now we need to haul away the rock. (I found out that centipedes, my lifelong nemeses, love rock.) So, we'll reconfigure the landscaping and our yard will look normal once again.
And at Joann's I found some cool new yarn for a hat to keep the grandbaby's cute little head cozy and warm. I think it's a brand new type. I love the colors too.
And......new art work for 50% off. Ta-DA:
This is the little rooster to keep the pear company. |
