An Unexpected Fun Friday - Edina Art Fair

This morning, my husband calls to let me know that the Edina Art Fair is going on. Oh-gee darn, I guess I'll just have to go. I've never been to it, I figured it would be pictures drawn/painted by little Edina school students or something. WRONG! It was almost as large as the Uptown Art Fair. Maybe as big. DD and I had a great time. Beautiful weather and lots of random works. The one I decided to bring home is this guy by my tree Oakie. We've named him "Brad the Dragonfly" in honor of the guy who made him. He'll weather and turn color in about two to three years. I'm thinking of coating him with something that'll keep him the same though. I like the way it stands out against all the green. There was another sculpture type lawn ornament I really want too. I might go back tomorrow and get it. It's some strange snail thing. It's so cool that people do this for a living. There were beautiful mosaics, wood carvings of lakes around Minnesota (I found the one DH grew up on), paintings, dog pics (saw some gorgeous Sammies).

We hadn't planned to go today, but these are the best kinds of days...the ones with the unexpected outings.
