Tale of Two Removers

The one on the left is evil.  (JK)  But seriously, it left me with a zit on the part just under my eye.  I didn't even know zits were possible there.  That skin is so thin, wtheck?   So I went back to my old tried and true oil-free L'Oreal eye makeup remover.  It's got a new package and name I believe.  "Clean Artiste".  It's for sensitive eyes (aren't they all?) and it even smells good.  Seriously, it's just like good smelling water. 

Just wanted to give anyone reading a "heads up".

So I was at a music store last weekend and I noticed a girl with a hat whose pattern I recognized.  (Hermione Hearts Ron)  It was a dark, yet bright green.  I thought I'd matched it well online when I ordered it, but no.  I should've gotten the Dragonfly color.  :-(  Oh well, this is purdy too.  I think I'll still make it.  Too much hassel to send it back.  If I like it, I'll just order the other color.  DD loves this type of color anyway, I'm sure she'll be happy with it.  Matching fingerless gloves too maybe.

The 3rd Basic Cowl from Lion Brand patterns. 

Here's a boring looking creature, but actually it's one of my favorite things to knit now.  It is boring to knit actually, but I use these things all the time.  They're so warm.  This is a beautiful light blue with metallic running through it.  I wish it'd show up better in the pic.  It's Lion Brand Thick & Quick in Mystical. I'll make the hat to match - maybe crochet a flower to brighten it up a bit.

Hi again!  I've been watching and loving Essiebutton (http://www.youtube.com/user/essiebutton?feature=watch) on Youtube lately and I've been inspired to buy very expensive make-up because of it.  lol  Seriously, $54 for the larger container?  Yeah, it's silly - my version of a mid-life crisis perhaps.  Got free mascara at least.  I bought it at Bloomingdale's.com and it just came today.  Why is it so dang fun to get stuff on my doorstep? 

Next up on my stoop will be an order from Knitpicks.com.  I was in line at a music store last weekend and saw a teenaged girl with a gorgeous colored green/yellow green hat and I recognized the pattern.  I asked her if it was the Hermione Hearts Ron pattern  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hermione-hearts-ron  and sure enough, it was.  She'd done it up in Knitpicks Galileo http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/knit-picks-galileo in the firefly colorway.  It's half Merino and half viscose/bamboo in a sport wt.  So beautiful.  I just can't remember if she said she'd used the size 2 or 3 needles.  So that's what I ordered.

I've been doing other things too.  Namely, practicing the piano and knitting still.  Today I actually cleaned the house. 

I've been considering switching piano teachers.  It's hard too, I don't want to, but I can't shake the feeling that John isn't that interested in being my teacher.  Maybe it's the adult student thing.  I told him about it and gave him a 4 week notice, making next Tuesday my last day.  Sigh.  Well, I'll have to learn to take risks in life.  I've been very measured about this one, hopefully leaving a door open to go back to him if I don't find someone who suits me more.  The teacher I've signed up with is much younger than I am but he's got a couple masters and is working on his PhD in music or piano (I forget) and one of his master's is in pedagogy so hopefully he'll be able to help me with timing.

Update: Next day::   Tried the two Bobbi Brown thingies.  The big jar - tinted moisturizer basically first of all is a little too dark for me in the winter, though would probs work in the summer.  Also, it just smells really odd.  I can't even describe it.

It definitely moisturizes - in fact I ended up needing powder which I thought being 43, I'd be done with.  I'm not thrilled right now with it, but I've only used it once.  And I did get a compliment on my overall appearance today - which never happens - so I guess I'll give it another shot.  Maybe get some translucent powder to go with it.

I will coin a phrase that I hope takes off and expresses the failure and abuse of the media, in general. CONSTRUCTIVE DISENFRANCHISEMENT through media malpractice is the effect of when the medium of the press alters its reporting through being intimidated (as with the White House press corps when they ask too many sharp questions, that is, those who actually do -- they get shut out of access.) or biased, the majority of media inaccuracy. The results of omission and factual distortion deprive the public, the voting public, of accurate information to make an informed choice. Hence the result is an indirect form of disenfranchisement.
The schools throughout the country have indoctrinated over a generation of students with leftist presumptions and false, distorted information, attacking our traditions, eliminating historical teaching or modifying it, shifting emphasis away from the core of history and our Constitutional republic. The result is the election of Obama, a person who is most skilled in manipulation and exploitation of the primed audience, who are conditioned to respond to the code words and whose attention span generally comports with the invariably false message of Obama and his ilk.
One needs to only listen to opinions expressed and reporting omissions on outlets such as National Public Radio to hear how news is selectively manipulated and editorialized through the presumptive mindset of the leftist.
Oddly enough, the existence and success of FOX News and its obviously more objective but majority conservative hosted shows gave implied license to the others to become more overtly leftist in their news delivery. They see their own biased reporting as some kind of balance vis-a-vis FOX News, talk radio and the internet. But they are supposed to be news outlets, that is, TV news, newspapers, etc. They have obliterated the line between editorial opinion and news reporting. Hence they have destroyed the medium and in effect deprived the public of truth.

October 7 and just now getting the outdoor stuff up.  I'd love to get a cool witch that, when you pass by her, comes up out of the ground and starts talking to you!  lol  Maybe I'll catch it on clearance.  There's a skeleton like that too.  I think they go from 2' tall to 5'.  I definitely think I'll go back and get another pumpkin to add color in the corner by the step.  There's a white ghost there, but ya can't see it during the day very well.  We finally planted our new shrubs too.  They're so little but they'll grow in nicely.  I can't tell you how much better I feel having some of the landscaping finished up - it's been a year and a half since we tore the nasty huge bushes out of there.  It looked horrible for a long time.  Our poor neighbors.  What lit a fire under me to get my husband and myself out there?  I'm having a piano tuner come on Wednesday and I wanted it to look nicer than it did.  lol  Eventually where the two scarecrow ppl are, we'd like a concrete patio, but that'll be awhile. 

Ok, well, I'm off to enjoy the last of my Sunday.
